WEEK 3 ON THE MISH!
Kamusta Po! It's been a confusing but enjoyable week!
Monday we went down to the port and ate at this little restaurant we like to go to and while we were waiting for our food to be made it started pouring out of nowhere. It's pretty normal here during this season though. All the roofing here is metal sheets and no insulation so when it rains its loud.
Then after eating it had stopped so we went back to our apartments and I went on a run while my companion biked beside. Then when we got back I sat in front of a fan and rehydrated to stop sweating and cool down. Then later went to the beach just down the block from our apartments. Definitely a spot I want to come back to after the mission.
Tuesday we had findings in the morning and teachings later in the afternoon. My companions bike broke so we couldn't bike this week which wasn't the greatest but we managed well. We just walked around Tinintinan for findings and then later took a trike to our IP appointments down at the port.
Wednesday wasn't much besides findings and teachings. I know now how to introduce the Book of Mormon in Tagalog which is good. Elder Franco, my companion has me do it a lot when we find new people.
Thursday we did findings in the morning then we had a service project. We took a trike out to this random spot and hiked for a bit up to the rice fields and cropped rice for a few hours. Then went back to our apartments, ate a snack and had a few IP teachings that night.
Friday I wrote a talk about families are forever and come to find out I couldn't even give it on Sunday, more on that. I'll give the talk next Sunday instead probably. Pero yeah that day we had findings, inviting to church, and a few teachings.
Saturday we invited people to come to church. We had lunch with the senior missionaries who were visiting and then went back out and did some more inviting. Then we got back late and got a call from the mission president and found out we won't be at church the next day. Everyone from my batch has to go back to the Manila MTC for ARP fingerprinting. Also my companion, who is one of the zone leaders has to go to a meeting in Roxas and the sisters in my district are get transferred out of Araceli and transferred to Roxas and the senior missionaries needed to go back to their missionary apartment in Taytay. So that left Elder Jenkins and Elder Fong to run church by themselves. Hopefully that went well for them.
So Sunday morning we packed our bags and got in a shuttle to take us from Tinintinan to Dumaran, across Araceli. Then we checked out the future missionary apartments for the people that will open the Dumaran area. Then took a boat ride from Araceli to Stanta Teresita were we then dropped off our bags at the lodging we stayed the night at. Went to the district apartments there and had a special sacrament. Then had a dinner at one of the IPs there and played some games.
The language has honestly been a struggle but I'm slowly getting phrases memorized and able to talk more in Tagalog in teachings. Know that there is always an end through your struggles and often a struggle. So offer out your hand unto Him, for He will guide you through them.
Feel free to email me! I love hearing from yall! Even if I don't reply, just know I read them and appreciate them! I hope you all are doing well! Update you next Monday👋
