It has been quite the week! I'll try not to bore you with a long email... no promises tho
On Wednesday our friend David texted and asked if we could have a lesson that day! So we grabbed a couple Elders to come with us (shoutout Elder Despain, and Trottier) David is a very stubborn old man, so it's hard to get him to cooperate sometimes, but at the end of the lesson we asked if he has been able to pray about a baptism date. He said no, so we figured we would make the decision for him lol. I told him that we think March 28th would be a great day for him to get baptized, and asked if he would work towards that date. He agreed, so David is on date to be baptized on March 28th! This is a huge deal to me because serving in Montana I have truly came to realize that even if I only help bring one soul to Christ, it is worth every door that gets slammed in my face.
We were supposed to have Zone Conference on Thursday, but they cancelled it because the wind was soooo bad and not safe to travel in. So instead we just found people to visit.
Then on Saturday... AN ABSOLUTE BLIZZARD HIT US!!! It was actually so crazy🫨not only was it snowing so hard, but the wind was insane! It was so much snow in not that much time. Another thing is snow plows do not exist in Cascade. We had to stay inside most of the day which was actually awful and I still feel guilty even though it was not safe for us to be out working haha
Anyways, because of this crazy storm they canceled church🤨 Church getting canceled as a missionary is the worst, so we decided to drive to Great Falls and go to church. It was -4 degrees when we were outside scraping our car off. That is not okay, I have never wanted to feel the 120° Mesquite summer more than I do now😅Maybe just go outside and cook in the sun for me because I can't wait to be able to wake up in the morning without freezing!
I forgot, this is why I was telling you that we went to church in Great Falls. So on our way there, the roads were pretty scary as you can imagine, but we were coming down a hill, and next thing we know, the semi in front of us starts swerving and ends up sideways in the road. It hit another car which ended up in the median, and somewhere in the mix a car pulling a U-Haul also got thrown into the median. It didn't look like anyone was injured too bad thank goodness! Had we been 30 seconds ahead of where we were, that would've been us. Heavenly Father was definitely watching over us.
That's all I can think of at the moment, but it was a pretty good week! I put someone on date for the first time, so let's goooo!
Spiritual thought:
From Jeffery R. Holland
“… I plead with you not to dwell on days now gone nor to yearn vainly for yesterdays, however good those yesterdays may have been. The past is to be learned from but not lived in. We look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes. And when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead and remember that faith is always pointed toward the future."
Learn from the past, but don't dwell in it. Keep moving forward, tomorrow is a new day!
Miss you
