Almost went home because I am a wuss and mentally was struggling (jk mental health is no joke). But I got told to suck it up and change my attitude 🫡, so I'm here now and I am just working. My ward is kinda small. I think me and elder chipman need to revive this place, but it's a hard area for sure. I also got my first gun pulled on me right after my email last week. I am alive though and God is protecting me so don't worry. I've just been talking to members and and getting to know the area and stuff like that. We had a guy say he wants to get baptized and now he is saying he doesn't want to so thats kinda buns. Talked to tons of people that aren't interested, but we trying. I have been living off quesadillas and my stomach is not looking so hot right now, and the sky is yet again always cloudy and gray and raining. Biking has been chill I hope my legs are growing, they feel like they are. Uh yeah I don't have much else to say haha 😂. I guess i'll do a spiritual thought because I am a missionary and I'm kinda super spiritual now. Good old 1 Nephi 1:1 but im gonna replace Nephi with my own name because I love my parents and they have taught me well, so I kinda relate to this 🫶 I, Mckay, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days. I don't have a great knowledge of God, but I'm here and I'm trying and God loves effort and he loves you all dearly. ♥️ And I love you all and miss you all dearly, Elder Mulitalo Previous Letter Next Letter

This week a thing that I learned is that the Lord has a plan for each and every one of us. We might not be able to see the path that he wants us to walk but he knows us, our desires, our hearts, and our dreams. Then with faith he guides us one step at a time. He sees everything and it might not always be in the way we want but it is always what we need. I also love this time of year with Christmas and the focus of Jesus's birth. I love the part in 3 Nephi 11 thay says And behold, I am the light and the life of the world. Every Christmas this is the goal to spread this light, the light of Christ!! Love you all -Elder Felix Previous Letter Next Letter

If you are wondering who that is he is basically like the Santa clause for foreigner missionaries here in korea! His wife was friends with one of the sister missionaries mom in highschool. So they came to see her but they invited us too. They gave us some wisdom some fire korean BBQ and then proceeded to by us groceries. Brother 배종욱 (luke) was baptized. He's the sisters friend and such an awesome guy. He's so smart and was prepared to learn the gospel. Lastly, finally met someone taller than me. It's been a while and I think it is healing my neck. He's awesome and wants to come to church! Just thinking about how lucky I am writing this email. I have loving parents and a family that loves me. I was born in America with friends and family as examples in the gospel. I am in korea on my mission and above all I got to meet pj rodgers! I know that we take time to think about what we are grateful for we can see God blessing our life's and we can enjoy our life on earth even more. Be grateful. The Atonement will carry all of us, I know that to be true, may we always remember Christs Atoning sacrifice as we begin this new year. Happy New Year! 12-30-2019 Hey everyone! Hope you all have been great! I apologize for not sending an email last week, my pday was Christmas and I was all over the place. Christmas was great, we went to the Sanders family's home and had breakfast. They have 6 wild funny kids. They showed us all their presents, they were very excited. We then went to the Rambo family home, they gave us gifts, they gave us a ginger bread house, and a painting that one of their kids made, it was great! We then hung out with our District, we made gingerbread houses and played spikeball, it was really fun 😆 afterwards we had dinner with the Webster family, they're a great family. This will be a shorter email because 1. We have a really busy pday today and 2. it's new Years eve. A talk I read this week is from the March 2001 Ensign by Elder Holland titled missionary Work and the Atonement. A quote I love from it is "The Atonement will carry the missionaries perhaps even more importantly than it will carry the investigators. When you struggle, when you are rejected, when you are spit upon and cast out and made a hiss and a byword, you are standing shoulder to shoulder with the best life this world has ever known, the only pure and perfect life ever lived. You have reason to stand tall and be grateful that the Living Son of the Living God knows all about your sorrows and afflictions. The only way to salvation is through Gethsemane and on to Calvary. The only way to eternity is through Him —the Way, the Truth, and the Life." I am going to be moving forward in life and will be returning home from my mission. It was after careful and prayerful consideration along with much discussion with medical advisors and my mission president. I love serving the Lord and I will never forget the great blessings that come from being in His service. I am grateful for everyone who followed and supported me on this although short lived, wonderful path. I pray for the opportunity to return at a later time and continue my service. A short recounting of what went on during my previous weeks: We stayed inside, called people, took naps, went on walks, watched movies (approved ones), played a board game when appropriate, worked out, read, and listened to music. It was pretty basic and that continued on everyday. I can't remember much of what happened really, but I remember how hard it was to enjoy this work that I love so much. Bringing others to salvation is one of the greatest works we can do in this life. I can bear testimony of the reality of Jesus Christ and all that he has done and is yet to do. I am going to be moving forward in life and will be returning home from my mission. It was after careful and prayerful consideration along with much discussion with medical advisors and my mission president. I love serving the Lord and I will never forget the great blessings that come from being in His service. I am grateful for everyone who followed and supported me on this although short lived, wonderful path. I pray for the opportunity to return at a later time and contiue my service. I want to focus on the blessings of the gospel as I move forward in life. The reality is that it may not always be fun, but it is always worth it. My testimony has grown tenfold of what it was prior to my mission. I love Heavenly Father and I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful for all that they do for me and all that they have done and are yet to do. I promise that all who want to grow closer to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father can do so by reading The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It was translated by a Prophet of God. The promise present within the book is, that all who read and pray about the message contained within and do so with a sincere heart, having real intent, and faith in Christ, can and will receive a witness of the truthfulness of the things written by the power of the Holy Ghost. I love all of you and pray that you will have this great opportunity! Elder Poole Previous Letter Next Letter

5282d28a-b4b1-4666-b99a-9c445008e1c4 Sister Kallie Graves Back to Missionary Letters My companion said the most legendary thing to me that I have ever heard. (Important side note: my district was going to do a fast together for the temple) So my comp and I were doing weekly planning (basically the torture of the mission), she turns to me and goes "Sister Graves, I have something wrong with my stomach, and everyone in the district knows. And well I just have something wrong with my stomach. When I am hungry and when I fast, my stomach goes BRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUU (I am indeed quoting the english version, so enjoy) Sometimes its just like brruu but other times its like BRRRRBRBBRRRRRURUUUUUGGGGGGGG. So I cant fast with the district on Monday." Don't laugh, she has a serious medical problem. She needs help. Good thing we live with the Sister Medic. Also, this week marks the third time I have asked someone to read a scripture when they didn't know how to read, which always results in an awkward next couple seconds. Also pt 3! This week I jumped on an English call online with another American. For the next 40 minutes, we got Bibled bashed IN THE NICEST WAY YOU CAN POSSIBLY BE BIBLE BASHED. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. Shoutout Rickey: for being absolutely agnostic in the nicest, most respectful way possible! I hope you have a good life! This week I gave my first Book of Mormon away alone (Small victories)! Because of teaching online, I end up teaching a lot about the Book of Mormon. I do not think that I can convey how true that book is. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It actually occurred. Christ really did come and visit the Americas. The passed week I have been teaching this woman online named Graziele. I taught her the Restoration and she went to church on Sunday. Sunday afternoon, she texted me (picture Portuguese) "KALLIE (we use our first names online) I DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO CHURCH WHEN I WOKE UP BUT I WENT ANYWAY AND I MEET THE SISTERS THERE AND I GOT THE BOOK OF MORMON AND EVERYONE WAS SO NICE. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! I WANT TO GO BACK! I AM SO EXCITED TO READ THE BOOK OF MORMON!" Queue melted heart. Then in our area we met an 18 yr old pregnant girl named Bianca. We took her from her broken home and took her to the visitors center. After the lesson, she took one step off the center's grounds, turned to us and said I want to go back. I want to feel that peace again. When can we come back?" I think sometimes we overlook this fact. Sometimes we forget where true peace comes from. True peace comes from Christ. We literally have access to the greatest book ever written: the Book of Mormon. Too often it lies untouched on the book shelf. Too often we have a temple or a church in our backyard and we don't ever realize how amazing that is. Christ wants us to come to him; his marked arms are always open for us. Christ means strength and comfort and love and peace and happiness forever with people you love forever. This week, I invite you to come to Christ, the Prince of Peace, and read the Book of Mormon. Read Alma 7. Oh my heck, the Book of Mormon is true. Never forget that. Com amor, Sister Graves Previous Letter Next Letter

4a5ca404-9671-440d-9e41-a9cb2049af81 Sister Talia Hansen Back to Missionary Letters Idaho, Pocatello mission The Idaho, Pocatello mission was not affected very badly by COVID. We definitely had it a lot better than most missions. We were in quarantine for about 2 months and then we were allowed to go out and do service. About a month after that we were allowed to go back into peoples homes! So we were basically back to normal! But while in quarantine we set up zoom lessons and did lots of teaching online as well as Facebook. We made lots of videos and posts for Facebook :). We were even still allowed to hold baptismal services while we were in quarantine so it really did not stop the work! I know that the Lord cares about all of us on this Earth, so much that He was willing to suffer and die for us! I know that He wouldn’t want the missionary work and the teaching of His gospel to stop! I know that the gospel is the truth and that so much light, joy, and happiness comes from it. It’s been a blessing for me to be able to see that light change peoples lives. I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and that we really can do all things through Him because He loves us! 6ad2c467-b582-4deb-a92f-c470f1da71dd Elder Stetson Ludvigson Back to Missionary Letters Wow the time is running down real quick, also depending on how crazy next week is this might be my last email. Because next week we have new missionaries coming, missionaries going the the Temple in Phillippines, missionaries leaving and transfer, all within a few days. So that will be wild and we are still not sure what the plan is. But this week was as usual, amazing! I dont have too much time right now so I will keep it short and sweet. This week we helped the youth in the Surakarta stake with filming a music video for the church, it was pretty awesome we were able to meet with everyone, and we also were able to go and see the big soccer stadium here in Solo. Also one of the youth forgot his church shoes so I let him borrow mine for most the day while they filmed, and so I just walked around barefoot, which is really normal here haha! This week was also filled with a bunch of member visits, I am trying to visit everyone one more time before I go home. The members here are the absolute best! This week we also helped a lot of the missionaries with their family history for the temple, most of them only have one generation of family history completed. We also were able to visit one of my all time favorite families this week! They just got reactivated in the church and their 15 year old daughter was just baptized, they are the best! Sunday was wild this week, so one of the returned missionaries that used to serve here came back and visited with his wife and he wanted to visit a ton of members. So we helped them out and basically biked around all of our area visiting members both active and inactive. One of the members we visited has been inactive for about 3 years but he made a promise that he and his family will be at church this next sunday, which is one of the greatest feeling ever as a missionary! He also is an artist and has some awesome paintings that he did in his house! Crazy literally only a few more days left! I am going to miss Indonesia and the people here sooo much! It's been really hard coming here but so worth it, and I am really bummed because right when I am getting the language and starting to make awesome relationships with people they ship me home haha, grateful for the time I spent here! Hopefully I will be able to see a lot of you next week!!! crazy I know! Love y'all Sampai Jumpa Previous Letter Next Letter

fe3c1d5f-abab-4ae9-baad-a8b46bf4ad68 Sister Savannah Pric Back to Missionary Letters We watched the entirety of the chosen this week lol Hola todos! This week as I've been preparing myself for conference and the words of the prophets, I've learned a lot about myself. I've learned that I'm not as bad off as I think I am, that I've actually improved a lot, and that yes, despite who I used to be, I am still worthy of change and growth. I've been listening a lot to different things, trying to bring the spirit into my life more abundantly. I actually have an experience I want to share about that. One day, I received a text from one of the ladies I'm teaching singing lessons to and she wanted to have another lesson! She told me that she had been reading the Book of Mormon and loved what was in it, and that she had some questions and wanted to talk. I was ecstatic! So we scheduled a lesson and planned what we were gonna teach her. That day I decided to read some conference talks that President Jackman had recommended for us about Easter, and I felt like I'd oblige him. I was listening to "Where justice, love, and mercy meet," by Jeffery R. Holland, and I was filled with the spirit, as you do 😂 I listened to a few more talks by him, and I felt really spiritually uplifted and inspired, better than I've felt in my life. (I also just wanted to add that, looking back, this day helped me to see how spiritually deficit I had become and that bringing the spirit back had helped me to feel better, and I've felt better since then). So then we had this lesson with Janet, and it was so spiritual. We talked a lot about her questions from the Book of Mormon, and then after she asked us how she can have the Holy Ghost more in her life, and we were able to tell her about baptism and how the Gift of the Holy Ghost can be with us always. At first I think she took that harshly, because she told us that what we were saying is that if our church is true as we claimed it is, then all the other churches are false. It took us a moment, but I think that moment was filled with the spirit, and we told her that it was true. She didn't back away either like I thought she might. She actually responded quite well, saying that she needed to read more before she came to any conclusions. She is the kind of person who told us all those weeks ago that she wasn't looking for my truth or my companion's truth, but God's truth. And I think things are going well, at least I hope so. We haven't had a visit since then, but we did invite her to watch General Conference this weekend, and she seemed chipper as ever! We are confident that the Lord is working on her every day! This week we also had a chance to receive the first round of the covid vaccine! I'm grateful for the technology we've been given that has given us a vaccine in just a year! I know that this is going to benefit missionaries so much because of how often we are out and about with people, and after we are fully vaccinated we'll be safe from quarantine even if we get exposed! I'm grateful for all that we've been able to do recently, but I'm grateful that we now have more opportunities to create safe environments for everyone we teach! Thank you for all your prayers and everything you've done for me! I love all of you! -Hermana Price Previous Letter Next Letter

8c1770d1-4c80-40e6-974c-49c51901b662 Elder Dylan Wilson Back to Missionary Letters Blessings Blooming in Bartlesville Hey y'all! These two weeks were absolutely fabulous if I do say so myself. Things have been great here in Bartlesville, but instead of rambling on about how great things are I'll just tell you why they're so great! We ate lunch with the Vaclaw family on Tuesday the 13th and they took us to a steakhouse with another set of Elders. It was quite delicious and filling so by the end of the meal I was exceedingly stuffed, but they decided that they wanted to buy a huge slice of chocolate cake for each of us. My companion got a third of the way through his while the other two Elders and I just picked at ours for a minute. We were all joking about how we should have a competition to see who could finish their slice of cake when Brother Vaclaw suddenly slaps a $5 bill on the table and says, "First one to finish their piece of cake gets five dollars." I'm happy to say, but also not happy to say at the same time, that I earned that $5 bill. Later that day we went street contacting and we had walked a pretty good distance away from our church building. We were able to pray and find a new friend to teach named Cheryl! As we were walking back we realized that we weren't going to make it back to the church in time for our lesson so we started running down the streets. I wouldn't recommend doing that in dress shoes and church clothes, but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. We had a really cool experience on Thursday the 15th! We went to the park to talk to people and after a few conversations with no real results, we were a little discouraged. However, the Lord loves effort! We started another conversation with this lady named Judy who was out on a walk with her kids and her friend. Long story short, we walked with her for about twenty minutes on a trail teaching about the Book of Mormon! She was talking about how much sense it all made and after we shared the classic Helaman 5:12 she said, "So how do we do this? Do I just give you my number? Can you come to my house?" We had a lesson with her the next day and she starts off by saying that she's been "thirsting for more knowledge" and "praying to know what changes I should make". It was awesome and she's so open! Found a few more new friends to teach, my testimony of God leading us in the right direction towards those that are ready to receive the restored gospel has grown so much. We talked to a lady named Sherry and she seems pretty nice, we found her at about 8:45 PM. Just a testimony to work all the way until 9 PM hits! Another time we were riding our bikes on Saturday night and started talking to a lady named Sarah outside her house. She recognized us as missionaries and was uninterested at first, but when she mentioned Boy Scouts as part of her life I pulled out my Eagle Scout card and she opened right up! Turns out that she's a Silver Beaver. Anyways, she listened to our message and we have a return appointment for this Tuesday! Took a trip to Pawhuska this week and it was quite interesting, Elder Grantham and I did a TON of walking and it reminded me of the old days tracting in Australia: heat, humidity, and lots of sweat. Checked up on some referrals, but nothing to really show from it unfortunately. Had a great Zone Conference! It was my last one which was pretty sad, but so many good things were talked about. Our friend Leslie is praying about being baptized so please pray that she'll receive that confirmation soon. Please also pray that Mike will receive a testimony of the Book of Mormon along with Judy, Regan, and others we're teaching. Things have been so great, I've been so blessed by the people here. Spiritual thought: Mosiah 18:8-10 I read these verses and was thinking about all of the things it asks us to do when we're baptized. We promise to bear one another's burdens, mourn with those that mourn, comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and stand as a witness of God at all times. It seems like a lot, but it's important to remember just how many other people have made that covenant that are there to help you. At this current moment, close to 17 million people. Not only that, but Jesus Christ was baptized and covenanted with Heavenly Father to help you. Our covenants connect us! Stay strong and know that so many people have your back! I love y'all so much, have a great week!❤❤❤ ~Elder Wilson Previous Letter Next Letter
