Mesquite Nevada West Stake

Dear Brothers and Sisters,The temple open house is only 2 weeks away! Our Stake has been given over 1400 assignments for this open house. In order for us to fulfill our assignments we need everyone to help. One very important date coming up is on September 6, 2023 at 7:00pm at the Stake Center. This is our Stake's training meeting for everyone that has signed up or is interested in being an Usher or shoe covering volunteer. I encourage all to come. We have asked the Bishops to focus on the first few days that we have been assigned (thru Sept 21) and to fill all those assignments first. I pray you will answer that call to serve. Info for those that are concerned about standing for long periods.The Temple Usher volunteer might be the best for those that are concerned about standing for long periods of time. The shifts are for 3 hours and 45 minutes. The first 45 minutes the volunteers will be sitting in training and a prayer meeting. During the 3 hour shift if someone needs a break they can go to the break room, get a drink, go to the restroom and all those kinds of things. Someone will be able to take their position while they take a 10-15 minute break. They said the Stake Center and Elevator usher will be very busy so it might be best to stay with the temple ushers if the volunteer is concerned about standing too long. This truly is an historic, once in a lifetime event. I pray we all will be willing to give of our time to help put on this open house of the Lord's House and make it one He will approve of.
