Elder Tauaimalo Fiso Back to Missionary Letters God Bless the USA🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July! It's been a while, I can't remember what I put in my last one so I might repeat some stuff, but here are some updates: - I got transferred to New Town, ND and will probably finish off here. Great members, great people, great food. Nothin' better. - One of our members who is from Alaska fed us muktuk. I'll let yall figure out what it is😂. - Our friends Artis, Tristan, Alaina, and Trake all got baptized this last transfer! They are so awesome. Their baptismal services were so spirit-filled. Missionary with members is THE WAY. - Trake's grandparents, the Good Bears, from Wolf Point (my last area), came down for the baptism. They gifted me and my companion a star quilt which is a very special gift in the Native American culture. In the 1800s, the native americans starved because of a near extinction of buffalo. They also suffered from freezing temperatures from the bitter winters. When someone was wrapped around with a buffalo pelt, it was a sign of love towards that person to keep them warm during those brutal times. The star quilt is a modern version of that, it being a gift of respect, honor and love. The Good Bears and Granchamps are such awesome people whom I will always remember. - I taught my comp how to bead. We have matching bracelets now. - I attended my first pow wow, so sick! The dances that were performed were waaay cool. Sometimes during the sacrament, I try really hard to think about Christ. My mind likes to wander A LOT, so it's kinda difficult for me😂. As I partook of the sacrament yesterday, I thought of the song, "The Greatest Among Us". I love these lyrics of the song (don't know if they're completely correct, this is coming off from my memory) "The Greatest Among Us taught us to love. To serve one another as He willingly served. And if I will follow Him, such is my call, for the Greatest Among Us was the servant of all." I testify that the Jesus Christ truly is the Greatest Among Us. He loved and served like no other. As we do our best to follow the example of Jesus Christ by serving others and showing love, we will experience so much joy in our lives. I love you all and I love this gospel. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. Elder Fiso Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Sister Kaden Lee

Sister Kaden Lee Back to Missionary Letters 0 to 365 real quick hi friends! how are you?? be honest. this week was pretty goof. a lot is going on but I'm handling it like a champ💪🏼😤. okay so on monday , I played some spikeball and some other game where we mixed kickball and cricket (a big workout) and I enjoyed both activities especially because I was playing with a bunch of 20 year olds... very wholesome 🙃. on tuesday we had dinner with the Eldridge family and they have the cutest dog named Bruce and I had to get a picture with him. #itsthelittlethings on wednesday , we went knocking and unintentionally knocked an active members door, brother and sister Perkins. when she opened the door I was like, "OH! I KNOW YOU!" and she said, "were you expecting someone else?" I just about died. she welcomed us into her home, got her husband, introduced us to all the cats, and let us share a message. they gave us some referrals to visit then sent us on our way. the members here are GOATS. I adore them. thursday morning, Elder Eardley and Elder Garza called and were like, "hey so we just found out our apartment manager hates Elders living here... can we swap apartments?" and I was like, "yeah sure" then they were like, "HAHAHA it was a pRaNk! happy one year! what are we doing to celebrate?" about 20 minutes later, they sent a text that said, "Hey uh you guys wanna go to bdubs at noon for no particular reason?" so we went to buffalo wild wings with the district for no particular reason then taught some epic lessons to our friends, Judy, Susie, and Javier. pray for them. pls. we woke up on friday to messages from the Elders telling us that they're sick and won't make it to service at a food pantry. which was a blessing because someone had to do their job and that someone was Amy. she had a lot of questions for us and she was also so kind and fun. hopefully we will get to see her again. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 there was a marathon on saturday and we got to direct traffic and the runners. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH it was so chaotic. I loved it. Alberta was supposed to be baptized on saturday but that didn't end up happening :( the plan is now this saturday, the 30th. pray for Alberta <3 read the whole book of Mosiah. thanks. ****QUOTE OF THE WEEK "I'm gonna open a member friendly night club in utah." - Elder Eardley "When they were talking about how difficult missionaries lives are, my mind immediately went to how hard it must be to cause contention in the district" - Jacob Hirschi much luv, sisdur lee 3453 SW Burlingame Rd Apt A-302 Topeka, KS 66611 Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Elder Maurice Perkins

Elder Maurice Perkins Back to Missionary Letters Miracles and No Church Meetings This week was very good. We have found some amazing people and miracles happen every day here in Nacala. This week we started teaching a man that came to church on his own last Sunday. He had been taught by the missionaries in Nampula while he was staying there for a few weeks and had gone to church three times. We started teaching him this week and he told us that he wants to be baptized. Also, we started teaching a man who recently moved to Nacala and decided he was going to leave his old church and start anew. He passed by the chapel and contacted the guard and then talked to the Branch Secretary and then came to church last week. We taught him a few lessons this week and he told that he wants to be baptized as well. As well on Friday we received the news that all the church meetings would be cancelled. I know that the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles receive revelation directly from God for our lives and for the church. Elder Gava is doing better now. He had gotten sick and was still recovering a little into this week, however he is good now. Other than that I am doing good, and I am healthy. I know that this is the work of the Lord. I am excited to see what this next week brings and know that God is our loving Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is His Son. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God here on earth. We are guided by Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone of the church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is true. God loves us and hears our prayers. He is coincidence of everything that is going on in the world right now. I am grateful to be a part of this work and for the experience that I have here to serve! Estamos juntos! - Elder Perkins Picture P-Day Pizza Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Sister Veyo Sage Bundy

Sister Veyo Sage Bundy Back to Missionary Letters We own Christmas Hey hey! If I'm being quite honest, I do not know what to write about this week because I feel like it went by SO fast. As every week does as of late, if I'm being honest. Here's a quick recap of some highlights this week: -It was Thanksgiving this week! I hope you all had a fantastic Turkey day and that you all ate lots of pie and stuffing and all that good stuff. My Thanksgiving was actually really fun. They told us that we couldn't go to members houses this year and I'm not gonna lie, that made me SO sad. Then they told us that we would be having Thanksgiving with a group of Elders and THAT made me a little worried. No disrespect or anything but I would take a hazard guess at most of the elders not having a huge hand in preparing a Thanksgiving dinner in the past and I was not sure how everything would turn out. Apparently I need to have more faith, because they surprised me and did a great job and dinner was actually amazing. Over all it was super fun and I had a good time. 10/10. -We went on exchanges this week. I was with Hermana Prestwich here in La Quinta (I begged to go to Spanish land, but she said no so I suppose my area is fine) and it was a party. We taught some good lessons and met some fun people. Another 10/10. -Our ward surprised us by asking us last minute if we could speak in church. Definitely had nothing prepared and I know you're not supposed to wing it on your mission, but when you don't find out until the morning of, you gotta do what you gotta do. The spirit was a nice little helper and we got through it. Honestly I think that's all I got for you this week but I'll end on a little bit of a spiritual note for all of you who have made it this far: One thing our mission is emphasizing a LOT currently is Christmas. One thing our mission President told us a while back is that our church, more than any other group of people, OWNS Christmas. We are Christ's church upon the Earth. We have His power, His authority, His prophet, and His word CURRENTLY being revealed to us. We as a church should embody Christmas. And there are so many people who need the spirit of Christ, some have a responsibility to bring it to people. They are waiting to hear it and waiting for the comfort that it's going to bring. SO I would highly encourage all of you to totally jump in headfirst this Christmas season and try to really light the world and bring Christ to those who need Him (which is everyone.) Anyways. I hope you all have had a great week and are looking forward to a STELLAR Christmas. Love you all!!! Love, Sister Bundy 7000 Central Ave, Highland CA 92346 Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Sister Taylor Allen

Sister Taylor Allen Back to Missionary Letters general authority wahoo Hello friends and family(: The past couple weeks have been so so good! I am absolutely loving my time here in Horseheads and the missionaries I get to serve around! This has been one of the happiest times on my mission!! We FINALLY found some people to teach and now are super booked with back to back lessons! Sister Roundy and I have seen amazing miracles this transfer and the work is rolling forward nicely 🤩just within the last 14 days we came across 8 new friends that are soaking up the truths of the gospel! It is incredible to see how God puts the people who are prepared into our path!! Also I hit 11 months today which blows my mind like WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE??! Elder Bassett from the Seventy came and did a mission tour this week here! It was a special expirence because the Mission Leadership Council got to have little one on ones with him then all eat lunch together! Not going to lie I was a tad bit intimated but he was the sweetest man! He gave the greatest trainings and shared some solid life advice! He talked to us alot about sacrafice and how it is an opportunity for us to show our gratitude for all that the Savior did! He told us how we all need to lay down the things of the world at the alter and focus our attention on things with eternal significance! I was able to recieve a lot of answers to questions I have had recently as he spoke which was a major blessing. I want you all to know how much I love you! Your Father in Heaven knows you and loves you! Make the relationship you have with Him your number one pursuit and I promise that is when you will have joy beyond compare! No trial or struggle will matter because you will have eyes that see far past this short time in mortality! Have a solid week and please I'm begging each of you to watch some scary movies for me or go to a haunted corn maze!! Then send me pictures so I can cry about how much I miss them 😂 side note: here is my current address for those who asked -> 228 Roosevelt Ave Apt #2 Horseheads, NY 14845 United States Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Elder Logan Felix

Elder Logan Felix Back to Missionary Letters This week was good. It was a little bit slow because we have been locked down all week. We had a lot of time just to study and read and clean and yeah that pretty much sums up my week haha. I have been studying restoration and there are a lot of things I´ve learned just when I think I've studied enough of the restoration I find another part of it I can study. I have also been reading the Teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith and there are so many things I learned about the priesthood and temple blessing. It has helped me strengthen my testimony even more about Joseph Smith, I know he was called of God and Restored the true Church of Jesus Christ. I am super excited for the General Conference. It is going to be great. Even though it will only be in a small room. I was thinking about it and on April 6, 1830, there was a meeting with a few people in a small room, but it was the start of the greatest thing on the earth. “Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing , for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.” D&C 64:33 I hope you are all doing great and getting ready for the General Conference, if you do so you will be blessed. • Elder Emmanuel Navarro-Gonzalez

Elder Emmanuel Navarro-Gonzalez Back to Missionary Letters Week 8 Hola y'all! This week I've definitely been practicing my southern accent this week! It's hard not to practice cause some of the mission leaders have really thick accents. It's pretty fun to take some of their best quotes and say it the way they say it. The best one this week was our vehicle coordinator this week telling us that he's busy mowing his lawn on his riding mower and that he "couldn't talk" but then proceeded to talk to us about his mission and that he killed it back when he served. Once twenty minutes of stories passed I let him get back to his mowing. On Thursday we had a zoom call Zone Conference! It was with Elder Martino so that was awesome hearing from him. My biggest take away was that we as missionaries should find someone that is in the same situation as the investigator. That will help the member to "astonish" the investigator with their testimonies. As Amulek did for the people of Ammonihah with his powerful testimony in Alma 10:12. But we sat there for 5 hours which was sooooo long! Afterwards we went to one of the best barbecues in the whole mission. It was called Mission Barbecue and it was honestly the best stuff I've ate since being here! So our Spanish page needed a talent portion for the weekly live so I decided to do frisbee golf. So my companion takes us to this random park and he bring some tortillas?? So then he gives me the phone and says start recording. So I record this kid start feeding ducks as his spiritual talent and I honestly lost it. We stayed there for like half an hour and just enjoyed the ducks. It was fun but I couldn't believe he took us there randomly. Go check it out on the page if you want to see this Elder feed some ducks! This Saturday was especially awesome because we ordered some Bolis! If anyone doesn't know Bolis are like Mexican ice pops. So there's this guy from Mexico that makes them in Nashville and drives around Tennessee delivering them to people! So we ordered some and he brought it to our apartment complex! I got some jamaica, coco, chocolate and fresh! They honestly hit the spot when you get done with work for the day. I would definitely recommend going on Facebook and liking Bolis Babys! I had my first dinner on the mission on Tuesday! We went to shoot a kitchen segment for the live and an Hermana taught us how to make huaraches! They were so fun to make and she let us eat them after! It was so fun to have in hour dinners! I can't wait for things to open up again because it was awesome! I hope y'all have an awesome week! Thanks so much for all the replies! It makes my week so much better. I appreciate all the love and support! If you guys want any awesome reads for this week I'd go to 2 Nephi! Its grown to be one of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon! Love you guys! • Sister Jamie Bundy

Sister Jamie Bundy Back to Missionary Letters Quarantine Week 22: Last one Well hello. I can't believe it. This is MY LAST weekly email. This last week was the week of lasts. I had my last District Council, my last service project, my last Zone Conference, my last correlation, my last weekly planning, my last sacrament meeting, and today is my last PDay. I had my departing interview and I gave my departing testimony. And throughout it all I have had so many sweet moments that have brought me some closure, which is something that is really important to me. I've been asked numerous times questions like the following: "What's the biggest thing you've learned from your mission?" "Whats the biggest piece of advice you would give?" "What are some of the best experiences you've had?" "Whats the first thing you'll do when you get home?" "What are your plans for when you get home?" HAHAHAHA WHAT? I think it was just yesterday that I was telling people that I was still just a baby missionary and only a couple months out. Lol turns out that it was actually last year. I can't believe its all coming to an end. The time I have left to proselyte is LIMITED. I am seriously just down to hours now and every time I think about it, it makes me a little anxious hahaha. There really will be so many things I will miss about serving a mission and being a missionary. I truly have gained so much from this time and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am so grateful for everything I have been able to gain because of it. I am excited to come home though. Even though it does make me sad to think that its almost over, it also just feels right. I feel ready. Don't know if I'll be saying the same when I'm boarding the lane lol. President Dunnigan gave me a promise about 14 months ago that leaving the mission would rip my heart out....I have yet to feel that so I'm sure there will be more emotions to come hahaha. But anyways I guess I can give you some updates on how my week actually went. It was a really good one to end on. We were VERY busy and it was honestly the best thing ever. On Tuesday I had my last district council. This last district I've served in has been a good one and I've been so blessed to be a part of it. They are all great missionaries and I've had a lot of fun with them. I will miss them. On Wednesday we did some service pulling weeds. It felt pretty good to DO something for once hahaha. I got all sweaty and dirty and even got scratched up. Twas the best. The best part though was when the service coordinator couple were so proud of us and sent the picture we took to President Dunnigan hahahahaha we got rebuked for not wearing masks and because we had more than two companionships there lol. I would say that I felt bad and that I apologized and all that, but then I would be lying to you haha. So yes that's the most rebellious I have gotten on my mission. On Thursday we had a mission tour with Elder and Sister Basset and we had a Zone Conference with them. It was really good and I really enjoyed it. I also had been informed earlier in the transfer that I would be giving my departing testimony at this Zone Conference. So the whole time I was just anxiously waiting for when they would announce for me to go. But then they didn't hahaha. So I was pretty convinced they had either forgotten about me or didn't actually wanna hear my testimony lol. I honestly would not have been surprised for either one of those. On Friday we did some service for the last time at the Food Bank of Delaware and it was really good. I've been goin to that place for a long time so it felt kind of weird knowing that I probably would never see it again. We also had our VERY FIRST, I N P E R S O N N O N M E M B E R lesson on Friday with this SUPER sweet lady named Rosemary! It was amazing! It seriously felt so good to have an in person nonmember lesson. And it was so good for me to be a part of Sister Kent's experience with it as well. It was awesome. She was happy to receive a Book of Mormon and we....well...the other sisters, look forward to meeting with her again and I look forward to hearing about it and eventually attending her baptism. On Saturday I had my departing interview! It was good. YES! President Dunnigan did talk to me about marriage hahaha, which I had no problem with. It was good though. Glad to be ending on a good note. On Sunday I gave a talk in our Zone Church service where I spoke about some different experiences from my mission and then I also finally gave my departing testimony at mission devotional haha. I lucked out though because instead of only doing it in front of my Zone I got to give it in front of my whole mission hahahah just kidding I don't think that was luck because I was dang nervous and didn't know what I was gunna say. But just Heavenly Father always does, He helped me out and gave me the words to say. Well ya'll I think that about wraps it up. Thank you all so much for the love and support you have given me. I can't believe I've made it and I can't believe who I've become because of it. I am changed forever and I'm so grateful because of it. SEE YOU ALL SOON! Love, Sister JAMIE Bundy Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Elder Rylie Waite

Elder Rylie Waite Back to Missionary Letters 3 Weeks/Tornados/Miracles Well everyone sorry I haven't written in a couple weeks, we're already halfway through the transfer and it's been great! The comp is good and we're working hard and getting a lot of work done and it's been honestly just a grind! We're teaching a lot of people. I'd say the biggest miracle we've seen so far is a lady named Caitlin, she was a referall and immediately accepted the Gospel and came to church last week! Im just loving to the end, can't wait to see yall! Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Elder Booker Wakefielk

Elder Booker Wakefielk Back to Missionary Letters First week in Salto Well our phone finally started working on Saturday. We had a few lessons drop because the streets are so messed up and we couldn't call them to find them😪. But we found a few and had some fun lessons. Elder Hopkins doesnt understand hardly any Uruguayo Spanish, but he speaks really well so I will translate for him sometimes then he can teach jaja. We took 1 whole photo since last pday so yeah. Our bishop is a police officer and he laid out all the areas where we can't be at night(like half of our area) and said to keep your phone in your pocket as much as possible. So that's been fun, we're in a pretty poor area here but the people are really humble and want to learn, it's been different than any area in my mission. I studied an awesome BYU devotional called, "Putting off the Natural man and becoming Saints." It's by Elder Cook and I love it! He relates a story about 2 horses he bought, Bob and Stubby. Bob was super friendly and stubby not so much. But after riding him for years he became a good horse and changed for the better, and how we need to be meekand to change. He tells is a LOT better than I just did so go read his talk. Have a great week!! Previous Letter Next Letter
