f3e954fb-07ad-43b6-83a9-d8ab0200cebe Elder Caiden Jones Back to Missionary Letters #72 What did we do this week? It's time for anotha update so let's get into it! (I might make these things monthly or something cause weekly emails are so bland. Maybe at the start of the new year?) Google Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/SPHBKzMm2s5zEyUQ8 Email: caiden.jones@missionary.org ————————————————————————— Mission Address Letters (in Mission) PO Box 97 Marden SA 5070 Australia Packages (in Mission) 11 Sommers Avenue Firle SA 5070 Australia ————————————————————————— Cancel the highlights. This week we went on two exchanges, one in Broken Hill (3 hrs away) and one in Robinvale (1 hr away), and both were so good! As a district we filmed a video for the mission Christmas party, reenacting the story of Alma the Younger. This is one of my favorite stories because this story was the first one I felt like I had actually studied, understood, and could tell. (Thanks Dahlen) This week my companion got devastating news that his mother passed away. He has 4 weeks left and decided to stay and finish strong, so everybody please keep Elder Fiefia and his family in your prayers. He is a fantastic Elder and I know that his mom is proud of him. With the heartaches, the Lord blessed us this week with some amazing miracles. I'm not sure if I've spoken about Ozzy yet, but long story short he is this super humble guy who works with the bishop, but we met him randomly at his home. (If you want the full story let me know.) Anyways HE CAME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY!! And he brought his friend from Queensland!! It was so awesome to see him there and he said that he loved it and he would come again with his son. This guy is so good and I am so glad we met him. Prayers up for Ozzy! We've got Zone Conference this week with Brad Wilcox and I am beyond excited for it. It's going to be so good. Stay tuned for next week! Man I love being a missionary. There are so many opportunities to share love and kindness with those around us, and even more so during Christmas. I was listening to Jesus the Christ and there is a chapter that speaks of the miracles that Christ performed. Christ loved and served everybody. I want to invite all of you to spend less money on gifts and spend more time. Focus on showing people love through things that you cant buy at the store. Call them, help them, make them something, tell them something, write them something, or whatever else you come up with for someone. You can help share the love of Jesus Christ and I don't remember hearing about Christ buying someone a hoodie or a bag of candy. LETS SPREAD JOY! I love you all and 'till next time! - Elder Jones Previous Letter Next Letter

a90ad77c-25b6-414a-ab38-ab2feb5161cc Elder Maverick Ludvigson Back to Missionary Letters Regular season week 16 https://photos.app.goo.gl/gB5gQ19oNLSC1GXy9 Whats up everyone, como estan? Espero que se encuentre bien. Anyways this week was a pretty average week. We had a lot of lessons over calls because who knew people work during the day?😭 An average week for a missionary still is full of miricles and experience. Vamos! HIGHLIGHTS -We have lunch with our steak president, pres Molina every week. Hes awsome but randomly he invited the Elders de Pujili and the Elder de Amboto to have lunch with us. It was some homemade rahamen 🤗. After we ate he pretty much interviewed us over the kitchen table 🫠. Hes a smart guy so he gave us some insights and showed us a parable of the Atonement which was cool. - We were having a lesson over the phone with this dude named Hernan and hes Catholic just like 90% of the people here but hes open to the gospel. We "randomly" grabbed a member that was at the church, Steve. She shared his testimony with Hernan and they clicked instantly because Steve shared his conversion story and it was powerful. 🤘, (Steve was Catholic and we had no idea) - We have a convert named Arel. He hasnt been taught or been to church for 6 months 😪, but that changed this week 🥳. It was pretty late already and we decided to track down his location and visit him. Google maps took us through some scetchy ally ways and dirt roads but we eventually made it to the house. They were there! They let us in and we shared a pretty strong message with them about building your house upon the rock. They gave us a few snacks and best of all, a ride! Side Note: members with cars is as rare as a Steelers playoff win 😪 -Last Monday we had people come up to is in the store saying they want to learn english and heared that the church does free english lessons. Perfect so we started our english classes again👍. During contacting we invited people to english class and found some success. We found this one guy randomly on the street named Edgar-James, hes pretty much fluent in english by only listening to Ingaine Dragons and One Republic 🤘. We instantly clicked and he came to class and even stayed for the ward christmas party 🥳! - Diego Naula, long story short We found this guy like 3 months ago and found out he lives in the hermanas sector so we sadly had to pass him. He called is randomly asking us to give his aunt a health blessing 🙏🏿. We made the long travel and gave her a powerful blessing, the spirt was strong and the whole non member family was there. Afterwords they fed us crab soup, but it was like normal Ecuadorian soup with a full crab thrown in there. After I finished one of the ladies threw a live crab on my plate and it scared the crap out of me, I scrame like a little 👧. We also played with there farm animals and got the really sick aunt to get out of bed and kick the soccer ball around. Maybe thats all she needed is some gringos to pull her out of bed 😭. Ecuador Things - RICE, RICE, RICE - Gringo tax is real, especially in taxis 🚕 - we saw a guy pop a squat in public 😳 💩 - Everyone is or was Catholic including the members - average cost for a lunch is 2 bucks 🤗 Spiritual Thought I had a goal this week to have fun and to really connect with people this week and I noticed the difference. Kinda piggybacking off my last thought use your gifts to help other people especially during this Christmas season. Do those randome acts of kindness, its worth it. SMILE! During my mission I realized how important a smile is. Everyone can smile and 90% of the time you get a smile back. My invitation this week is to simply smile more, and notice the reactions you get from it. Con mi todo corazón Elder Lud 🤘 Previous Letter Next Letter

c8913e47-af45-438d-82a0-15b1ea57010a Elder Reece Leavitt Back to Missionary Letters Heavenly Father puts people in our life when we need them. Olá todos! Como vocês estão? This week was really good, lets get into it, I have a good story to tell towards the end so you have to stay and read till then 😀 Monday we went to São Leopoldo for Pday. Our whole zone met up and played soccer, and had a water ballon fight. But I didn't have a change of clothes so I didn't want to get mine all yet. But it was fun and they had a good time. We helped out a lot of members getting ready for our ward Christmas party. We had to move all the benches out of the chaple, set up tables and chairs, and we also set up some decorations too, it was a lot of fun. We didn't do all that in one day it was spread out through the week. But there was a lot of people that showed up. But we were not able to talk to anyone that wasn't already a member. But we brought our RC's and they had a fun time. The work has been a little slow here because it is small and we do not get a lot of referrals. But we are able to get in contact with some of the referrals when we get them lik once or twice. They tell us that they will come to church. But then they don't show. And it gets a little frustrating when they want to learn more about the gospel but don't want to put in effort.😑 STORY TIME But there was one referral that we passed by he said he would be home but he wasn't, so I was annoyed at that. So we went to lunch and went back after. And on the way my comp said "if he isn't home then we are going to stop contacting him" because we have been trying to have a lesson with him for a while but never could. So I said a prayer asking Heavenly Father to put this guy where we needed him to be so we could teach him. He was home😀😀 Answer to my pryaer. And we had one of the best most spiritual lessons ever. He had a lot of problems in his life and was literally willing to to anything to be closer to God. We talked a little bit about the Word of Wisdom, and we literally gave up smoking and coffee on the spot. It was crazy. This guy is amazing and he was crying in this lesson and it was so powerful and amazing. Sunday sacrement meeting was good. The Stake President came and talked and it was great. I cant remeber what he talked about specifically but I remember that it was powerful and true. Spiritual Thought Mormon 9:15 - 20. I love this scripture because it talks about how God does not cease to do miracles. And I came across this watching a BoM video before bed. And I had a question "why doesn't God show us huge miracles like the stories in the BoM." And my mom told me that miracles can be about perception. It can be a huge miracle for someone but a small act of service for someone else. So I think there are still huge miracles we just aren't able to see them, or sometimes we aren't able to recognize them. But that was my week. The food is still great, Brazil is amazing, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Have a great week love you guys!! Previous Letter Next Letter

1e063ac7-d1bd-4502-a233-d86e73516fae Sister Jasmine Bundy Back to Missionary Letters God ❤️s Clowning 🤡 You ever have weeks where you just feel like you're Woodrow Call? Hm. That was this week. 😐 But at the end of the day, I would still marry him over Augustus McRae and that is all. Let me tell you ALL of the events of my week. So first off first thing, Sister Jonsson and I had the revelation that we wanted someone to reach out to US. So we've praying for it in every prayer 🙏 😒 This is where God is silly. We have accumulated 4 Stalkers. This is the walmart version of the miracle I was picturing bahaha But all is well, they're harmless. My favorite Stalker is Kevin, he calls us over and over and then when we answer he just kinda breathes on the other end of the line. My least favorite stalker is probably Nicholas because when we were trying to teach him about the Sacrament he gave us hugs and gently told us it was all gonna be okay 🙄. I hate hugs. From Stalkers. Named Nicholas. Especially when I'm speaking of the Lord's Sacrament. I think this was the turning point of me embracing the Woodrow Call attitude for the rest of the week. But WAIT it gets better, one day we recieved a referral from a nice lil fella named David. We pull up to David's crib and his mom answers! His mom is a full on Hippie. Google Hippie and David's mom will show up. I ❤️ her. She invites us in and begins showing us her art work! Her specialty is mannequins that she glues magazine clips too. how nice (?) Well anyways she brings us to her kitchen to show us her favorite and I about screamed and ran out the door. THATS IT MOMMA IM COMING HOME. We proceeded to have a nice lesson about baptism with her son David though. Tender miracles in the TKM I love being a missionary 🦧 Sometimes I wonder what my mission president would think if he read one of these emails. 😶 .. anyways. We also had a stellar relief society lesson in which an argument broke out about whether you can bless the sacrament without permission from the presiding priesthood holder. We had two friends with us that just blinked through the whole thing trying to act as if they even knew what the priesthood was. Uhhhhh NINA GOT BAPTIZED 🎣🪸 It was so sweetie. I love Nina! She is just the cutest, most precious, Swede I've ever met. Aside from my companion of course. Well thats about all folks. So because I was a little pain in the behind this whole week I figured I would speak on humility. More for me than for yall. I've learned that there are 2 options 1) humble yourself (act) 2) be humbled (be acted upon) God kindly provides the second option when needed. He kindly provided that for me this week. And you know what? I'm so grateful. God loves me, so He humbles me. And then He teaches me, He walks with me, and He never leaves my side. I believe in a loving God because He rescues a soul so rebellious and proud as mine, time and time again. He is relentless. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. - mister Bun Previous Letter Next Letter

15ba64e9-9603-4d32-b618-306e51e9b0a5 Elder James Park Back to Missionary Letters God grants miracles! It's P-day and Christmas is one week closer! I love this time of year when we have to remember our Savior, the Son of God. His birth represents His love for us and for our Father in Heaven. This week some of my highlights included: We baptized another friend! What a special day! 🤍 Someone threw a completo at my companion and I from a car… Luckily they missed! 😅🌭 I had two intercambios and learned so much! There really is so much to learn from every different missionary. 🙂↕️ I sang in another Christmas choir and I’m still signed up to sing a bunch more.. 🎶🎤👩👧👧👨👦👦 We had our huge assado (BBQ) Nobody wanted to cook all of the meat so my companion and I were the chefs. 👨🍳🍖🔥👨🍳 *fue super rico! 😋* I tried an Argentine cookie with chocolate and caramel. It might be my new favorite cookie 😅😋!! We have a packed week with four Christmas parties planned! It is going to be a crazy week! 🥳 Today I will go shopping! Hopefully I can find some good White Elephant gifts for our upcoming Christmas parties!! 🐘❕️ *Below is my spiritual thought for this week.* I wanted to share about a miracle that my companion and I experienced a few days ago. My companion and I had been walking all day and we had so much further to go. It was getting late and people were waiting for us. As my companion and I were discussing our dilemma and walking down a busy road with many people we were stumped. There was no possible way to complete all of the tasks that the Lord had called of us. I will never forget the words of my companion at that moment. He turned to me and said Elder, we need a miracle. It's the only way. At that moment I said a little prayer in my heart and looked up and said, “God we need a miracle.” Without a second passing by, a man stopped his car on this busy road and asked if he could drive us to wherever we needed to go. I had never seen this man and he had no idea who we were as missionaries. But the Lord put him in our path during a time when we needed him. I know that God is a God of miracles. He hears our cries and the prayers of our hearts. When our will is aligned with His, He will always provide a way. I love a quote from the prophet Mormon when he asked, “Have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven, and hath sat down on the right hand of God?” He later gives the response, “Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men.” We all have angels ministering and watching over us and God will always provide a way for the faithful. I know this to be true and leave you with my testimony that Jesus Christ lives. Because He lives let us all rejoice! Love you all, -Elder Park 🇨🇱🤙 Previous Letter Next Letter

a748c0e8-1939-4fc2-b1ab-7fe6a5c8ee49 Sister Dantzel Park Back to Missionary Letters ¿Do You Dance the Macarena? Hey everyone! I am so excited to share a little bit about my week. I was running around EVERYWHERE! And didn't eat a normal lunch a single day this week. Ok lets gooooo… ♡We set up a christmas tree! It is officially Christmas time in our apartment :) I'll attach the video of us making the tree in my google photos :) ♡ I never thought I would be saying this but, we made popsicles for Christmas!! It's summer time here so we now make popsicles every other day! ♡ We did a funny gift exchange as a district. I picked out Elder Fuertes and bought him a tiny tie. He loved it! ♡ Part of the gift exchange is that we had to wear the funny gifts we received in the District council so of course I wore my Hello Kitty socks. ♡ I got told I sound like Dora when I'm speaking?? I genuinely don't know what else to say about this…. ♡ I spoke in church once again! I have used the same talk about 3 or 4 times now :) As a missionary the talks are always ready in case of an emergency. Which is what happened on Sunday. ♡ “ Wait, can I send the weird spiderman dancing sticker??” - Hna Pack ♡ Divis!!! Hna Sagastei is the BEST!! I learned so much from being with her for a day <3 I also tried a Cachanga? Apparently it's bread from Trujillo and it was good!! ♡ Divis x2!! Hna Tesen is so cool <3 She has an amazing door contact and found so many people interested in our message! ♡ I had an interview with President Elliott! I got a few sneak peeks into the new mission that is going to be opening! I am so excited for the Mision Peru Tacna to open in July 2026!!! ♡ ¡¡Zone conference!! I learned so much about how to be a better missionary and how to help our friends when oposición comes. ♡ We got asked if we know how to dance the Macarena? Haha it was attached with the missionaries from another mission dancing... Wait… do you dance the Macarena? Spiritual thought This week I have seen the importance of sacrifice, and humbling myself to do the will of the Lord. The real reason I want to talk about sacrifice is because of all the running around I had to do this week. I realized that I was using every spare minute to do things that needed to get done. If I had 5 minutes I was washing my socks! But, it helped me realize that I would spend any time I had to do the necessary things to live comfortably. This got me thinking, even if I was exhausted would I do the same to live comfortable with my spirit? If I had 5 minutes to wash my socks would I use that to read a few verses in my scriptures or say a prayer? Would I dedícate it to the Lord? I invite you to dedícate a little time to help you live more in tune with the spirit. I know that everything we do plays a role in who we are and the relationship that we have with our heavenly father <3 I hope you all have a wonderful week!! Keep your spirits up and know that I love you <3 Hermana Park <3 Previous Letter Next Letter

0577e0ec-e5b8-4466-8e1a-61ef56da6471 Sister Brooke Mickelson Back to Missionary Letters JOIN UPPP📸 https://photos.app.goo.gl/UoWFGHnRxwjSNdbB9 It's good to be back! Email me because I miss yall. Time here is so weird, it feels like it's going fast and the weeks are flying, but then I realize this is only my second p day in the mission field. I did hit one month this week, so woohoo I'm basically almost done! Jk its been so good though! This week we pretty much just did lots of knocking and trying to find people to teach, but not a whole lot of luck. People get really mad at us for ignoring the no soliciting signs, but every single house has one so idk what they expect us to do. One guy yelled at us and said, "Did you see the no soliciting sign you walked right in front of it, so you can leave!" it just makes me sad that people can't be kind. Plus they have no idea what they're saying no to. Going out knocking all day is draining, especially when nobody wants you there, but then there's always one person who is really kind. It gives me a breath of fresh air, even if they're not interested it gives me some hope in the world that there's still those good people out there. It helps me remember that God is aware of us. I know He will lead us to the ones who are ready. We just have to keep giving all our effort to seek them. The weather on the other hand has been insane. Last week it was snowing and so cold. At the beginning of this week it was raining, and the last few days have been sunny and beautiful. You would never know its the middle of Decemer in Montana right now. It scares me for what is to come though. I just know its about to get so bad. We also saw at least four rainbows so that's prettt cool. On Wednesdays and Fridays we go play pickleball with non-members. It's bunch of old people who are really intense at pickleball. They all play in like some sort of league and do tournaments I guess. We have so much fun with them. I am not good at pickleball and sometimes they get a little mad when we don't play good, but they're usually nice about it. It's just funny because they can get really intense. Hopefully I'll be a pro before I leave though. On Saturday we had our ward Christmas party. Have you ever heard of a ward dance?? Because I never had. This ward is so much fun, and theres some amazing people who work really hard to put things together. After the food and a few musical numbers we had a dance. Although it was a little awkward when slow songs came on🫠I had ptsd from high school lolll I love a good dance. Plus we got to listen to some normal music since we weren't the ones playing it.😉 but I seriously love this ward. They treat us like their own and it makes me feel so comfortable here. Spiritual thought: My district has been focusing on hope recently. I know that God is a God of hope and he knows us personally. I've been thinking a lot about how Jesus Chirst was literally perfect, and he performed so many amazing miracles and healed thousands. Yet he cares enough about me to help me with the minor inconveniences in my life. He knows how to comfort me and help me feel close to him. We can have hope through Him and find joy because of Him. Moroni 7:41 - "And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise." Anyways that's about all for this week, nothing too crazy. I love you all! Have a great week!❣️ -Sister Mickelson Previous Letter Next Letter

491222b9-a886-417a-a1d2-e6e800479c35 Sister Marian Leavitt Back to Missionary Letters The most life changing 19 months 🫶 I dont even know how to put this week into words! It was all over the place. We saw soooo many miracles but had a lot of setbacks as well! We have had 3 progressing friends this entire transfer who have been preparing for baptism this upcoming sunday and 2 of them fell off date which was so frustrating but thats okay! The best is yet to come! We are still teaching our friend Marva from Afghanistan and shes THE BEST!! we are literally just friends with her. We go get dinner, help her set up her room cute, and of course teach her while we do it all but she has been such a miracle and answer to my prayers this last transfer!! We met with our recent convert Mekhi and just had a if you dont laugh you'll cry kinda deal. He is our COOLEST recent convert. So chill. We have been bffs since i got here. He told us he doesnt want us reaching out anymore because his girlfriend doesnt like him talking to us. Sorry WHAT??? Literally insane but oh well. I got to go on 2 exchanges this week!! One with sister barlow!!! If you dont remember i trained her and it was SO GOOD to be back! She has grown so much. She has so much love for people and she is always looking to grow closer to the Savior. We talked about personal studies and how to make them more meaningful. I always love talking to the sisters about this kind of study because i always learn more!! My second exchange was with sister Rindlisbacher! Shes from layton utah. She is the cutest sister. She is so KIND! her voice could literally put me to sleep. She has so much love for this work. I learned so much about talking to people like the Savior would. This will probably be my last email of my mission! I have such a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. My favorite name for Him is my friend. He has become my very best friend. He is my joy! I know He suffered for you and for me. He died for you and me. He rose again and He lives! He lives so you and i can overcome death. My new favorite hymn is the song because, because it describes my testimony perfectly Because He died for me, I’ll live again. Because He is my Friend, I’ll follow Him. Because He fills the world with light, I’m filled with hope and peace. And when He comes to earth again, I’ll kneel before His feet. And I will praise forever The Savior of the world, And I will sing together With all the Saints on earth. Because He gave to me ev’rything He had to give, I breathe, I see, I hope, I love, I live. I love you all! Thank you for all the love and support these last 19 months ❤️ Previous Letter Next Letter

b3bac61e-387f-4a42-a4aa-fb9d61ac1c16 Sister Nayeli Andrade Back to Missionary Letters Miracles! What a week! Too many things happened to write it all, but all I can say is God is Good, God is a God of Miracles. And I've said it a lot but I am just simply so grateful. I just wanted to share this scripture today: “For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing?...Has the end come yet? Behold I say unto you, Nay; and God has not ceased to be a God of miracles….And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles.” This week there were too many miracles to count. It was just a week that testified of these scriptures. For example, our apartment had a bit of a flooding problem(all is well now😂), and my quad of scriptures was in the middle of the water. It was devastating at first, until once everything settled, we inspected them further. The leather was wet, but none of the paper. Miracles are all around, don't look past them. I am grateful for the experiences God gives us to where He shows us He is there. Wonderful, holy, moments, where you feel His love and His strength. I know that alone, I would not be able to accomplish this work. But I am grateful when the Lord calls us to do anything. He provides a way. He makes up the difference. And we are NEVER alone. Remember to trust Him, know He doesn't expect us to be perfect, He just expects us to try our hardest, and then stand still and know He is God, knowing that He can do all things. I love you all so so much! Have a great week! Sister Andrade Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Elder Brayden Taylor

d542b873-959d-4592-b9bc-b75aaada7f72 Elder Brayden Taylor Back to Missionary Letters Macará week 7 Hey what's up everybody? This week's lowkey been a harder one, so I didn't have the ganas to write a big email this week. We've just been working really crazy hard to get people to church, and then we had the least amount of people there since the first week, so it's just been a really rough week. But I still have one unspiritual thought and my spiritual one. Unspiritual thought: Apparently, there's this weird tradition here where, near New Year's or at some point this cambio, some of the men here get all dressed up in drag, put balloons in weird places, and say some interesting things... a member told us, and we were gaffed, actually, just a really random custom. Spiritual thought: We did have a cool miracle this week. We had a couple citas fall through, and I was just really craving an empanada. So I told my boy Acosta we should go and grab one rq for central. So we went up there, and before we got to the empanada place, this lady stopped us and told us that her mom is part of our church and had been looking for us and where we meet. So we got the empanadas to go and went and talked to her mom, and so we found another member here in macará, and it's really just a cool experience to help someone have the sacrament again, because who knows the last time she had had it. But she came to church with her granddaughter and her granddaughter's friends. So if you have a spiritual impresión to eat an empanada, act on it. Previous Letter Next Letter
