c30e07fe-3973-4c78-9571-e1b0af16194a Elder Booker Wakefielk Back to Missionary Letters First week in Salto Well our phone finally started working on Saturday. We had a few lessons drop because the streets are so messed up and we couldn't call them to find them😪. But we found a few and had some fun lessons. Elder Hopkins doesnt understand hardly any Uruguayo Spanish, but he speaks really well so I will translate for him sometimes then he can teach jaja. We took 1 whole photo since last pday so yeah. Our bishop is a police officer and he laid out all the areas where we can't be at night(like half of our area) and said to keep your phone in your pocket as much as possible. So that's been fun, we're in a pretty poor area here but the people are really humble and want to learn, it's been different than any area in my mission. I studied an awesome BYU devotional called, "Putting off the Natural man and becoming Saints." It's by Elder Cook and I love it! He relates a story about 2 horses he bought, Bob and Stubby. Bob was super friendly and stubby not so much. But after riding him for years he became a good horse and changed for the better, and how we need to be meekand to change. He tells is a LOT better than I just did so go read his talk. Have a great week!! Previous Letter Next Letter

790fb58c-36ab-4954-a97c-d7567d814e3a Sister Dantzel Price Back to Missionary Letters I send the "bubbles" when I feel awkward What a week! I hope that everyone is doing well and has found something positive in this week. This week has been just like every other week here at the MTC... In case some of you don't know the schedule, we started HSI which stands for hablo su idioma (speak your language). This means that we are only allowed to speak Spanish no English... our days start with a 3 hour class in full immersion spanish. Then we eat lunch, then have an hour tutoring session. We do our personal study, companion study and language study before dinner which takes around two and a half hours. Then we go to another 3 hour class in full immersion spanish. And we are speaking spanish constantly and yes I have a constant headache learning new words and interpreting hand motions from others. But, it is so fun to see myself progress in the language! I am starting to understand and pick up on regular phrases that people use a lot. I know how to get my idea across as long as people are paying attention. I also love talking with my hands and I look like a bird trying to fly when I am speaking in Spanish. I can confidently pray, testify, and ask to use the bathroom! All big improvements!! I sang in choir again this week for the general authority! We sang I will walk with Jesus which is one of my favorite songs. It is one of the new hymns that came out last week and singing it with so many young Elders and Sisters who chose to walk with Jesus was so powerful. If you have not heard the song before I totally recommend it because it is so comforting to know that if you choose to walk with Jesus He WILL walk with you. Not only will He walk with you but He will carry you through the hardest things you are going through or will go through. I am so grateful to be a missionary for La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias! Previous Letter Next Letter

10f10710-11de-4b3f-9fd8-c8453d36612b Elder Emmanuel Navarro-Gonzalez Back to Missionary Letters Week 15 Hola Amigos y Familia! Wow and just like that I'm getting the screwdriver to take off my training wheels! This is 15 weeks since I left for the MTC and 12 weeks in Tennessee! Last transfer I was being follow up trained by Elder Dent. He's an Arizona guy so we bond over the desert. We're staying together and in the same area for another transfer! I realize that I haven't been sending out emails the last 6 weeks. Yeah sorry about that but my mom is telling me that I probably should so here I am listening to her. Moms know best! Shout out to Ana! There is so much that has happened this last transfer that I can mention in future emails. But I just wanted to leave you all with my testimony. I know that this work and this church is true. There is nothing more miraculous than seeing people accept Jesus Christ and his Restored Gospel in their lives. This has by far been the best time of my life. Sometimes it's hard and people reject you mostly here in the south but it's worth every second. This Gospel has brought me so much joy and I know it can help each and everyone who receives this email! I love you all and I promise I will write next week! We are so excited to pick her up from the airport on Wednesday!!! We also got to go to church in person on Sunday! I don't think I have ever been that excited to give a talk in church!! I have been in this ward for over 4 months and this was my first Sunday in the building with ward members!! Because us and the elders in our district have been using the church the last 4 months, we all went and cleaned it together for a few hours on saturday and it was actually a lot of fun! We wont be using the church much any more due to the fact our ward is starting to go back and we want to keep it sanitized. We also had our district activity today!! It was a lot of fun! The elders made some food and we all just played games out side! There are only a few people leaving our district so it is staying the same for the most part! We moved Anthony's date back a little but he is still progressing towards baptism so that is exciting! JJ actually accepted to be baptised this week when he comes to know it is true( which he will)!!! We are excited to see him progress as well! • Sister Macie Bowler

3e53b382-5403-4014-a10c-1fb8d201e491 Sister Macie Bowler Back to Missionary Letters Last one Hey everyone today is my last ever email as Sister Bowler!! Actually insane! This week has been full of just saying goodbye to all the members and finishing up last minute things. This week we went back into the negatives. We got to about -30° I guess it's just a good send off from Montana. Oh also this week we went and said goodbye to someone who lives in the heart of uptown Butte. We were walking and on the side of the road was a human crap. It was absolutely disgusting!! Okay lets bring the spirit back lol. I have felt so blessed to have written emails every week and to testify of the Savior. I was thinking a lot this week of what I want to write for my last email. It could go in so many different directions but I wanted to write down my testimony. How amazing is this gospel and our Saviors love. I know and I have personally witnessed how aware he is of each one of us. He wants us all to have joy in this life and become like him. Without trails we wouldn't have been shaped into the person we are today. With the Lord wanting us to be like him that means that sometimes we have to struggle. In that struggle we learn to rely on him. His Atonement is so real and nothing we ever do will be out of reach or too deep were the Savior hasn't already been. He reaches out in love constantly. I know that one of his biggest signs that he loved us is that he restored his gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon with Heavenly Father directing him. Never doubt his love for you. Never doubt your faith because it is good enough! I love each of you all and I know that as you let God prevail in your life you will have joy! Can't wait to see some of you soon! Love, Sister Bowler Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Sister Resha Nicole Bunker

89ee6518-5430-4fcd-9c22-dc92d8abd8b1 Sister Resha Nicole Bunker Back to Missionary Letters To start off, we had District Council on Tuesday. Part of District Council includes us discussing a Gospel principle, and deciding what we can do to teach it more effectively. This week, we discussed the Great Apostasy and the need for a restoration of truth. It all makes perfect sense. After Christ and the Apostles were killed, there was no more authority on the Earth. The Priesthood was simply gone. With no authority on the Earth, there could be no leader. With no leader, there could be no more guidance or direction from God on a large scale. As a result of this, unauthorized people made unauthorized changes to Jesus Christ's truths he had taught. For 1,820 years, people were lost! This really puts things into perspective for me. Because of the restoration of the Gospel, we don't have to be lost anymore. The Priesthood has been restored to the Earth, we have a leader, aka President Nelson, and we have Christ's truth back on the Earth in their fullness. IT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING. We had an opportunity to teach a man, Kenny, this exact thing. We were out doing some tracting one day, and while we were walking towards the street we wanted to knock, a man was standing outside watching his friends kids. We discussed The Book of Mormon with him, and discussed how it is evidence of the restored Gospel of Christ. He was so fascinated! We are going to meet with him tonight! Here is another good tracting story. We tracted into 2 members who hadn't updated their address. So moral of the story, update your info on LDS Tools. :))) It was hilarious! Our zone is making an emphasis on tracting this month. We are all setting aside an hour every single day to tract. We knocked, and we knocked, and we knocked. I've loved every second of it, who knew that tracting could be FUN?! Saturday night we had a lesson with Marleney and D'leiny. They currently attend a different Church, but have been praying about being baptized. They asked us how to know which Church they should commit to. We invited them to pray, and to search for the Spirit answering their prayers. They asked us the following questions: -How does the spirit speak to you? -How do you feel it? I invite you to reflect on how the Spirit speaks to YOU, and how YOU feel it. President Nelson gives some suggestions to help figure this out in his first address as President of the Church. Go read "Revelation for the Church, Revelation for our lives." Acting on the promptings we receive from the Spirit and being obedient help us to find the most joy. I was reading in the Book of Mormon, and I came across a verse, 2 nephi 5:27. "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness". The people of Nephi were being obedient to the commandments, and seeking for the Spirit to guide them. The result was happiness. I know that obedience brings blessings, and obedience brings joy. God has created a beautiful plan of happiness for you and for me. It's up to us to choose it. Have a great week! Sister Bunker Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Elder Connor Zarate

02237fd1-f4e1-4b26-8159-166bc456df46 Elder Connor Zarate Back to Missionary Letters 25/825 This week we were able to see some cool miracles we doubled the amount of people that we found this week compared to last week. On p-day We were able to go visit black rock castle. And that was cool as well. Other stories For this week, my companion got punched twice and had to Dodge an aloe plant thrown at him by a drunk guy. That was an adventure. But we survived no problem. No cuts or scrapes. If you want details you might have to email me personally because I don't have alot of time. Also you could probably bug my mom she might know. Other than that we have had soo many missionaries stay over in our flat this week (4 companionships and 8 missionaries, not including us)so food was interesting Especially when you consider that these are missionaries. Not just regular people but missionaries that can and will eat anything and everything but it all worked out in the end and nobody starved (I think this this was the Biggest miracle of the past 2 weeks.) Spritual thought Doctrine and Covenants 18:26-28 "there are others who are called to declare my gospel, both unto Gentile and unto Jew; Yea," and they "shall be my disciples, and they shall take upon them my name; and" they "are they who shall desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart. And if they desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart, they are called to go into all the aworld to preach my gospel unto every creature." For anyone thinking about serving a mission do it. There are tuff days and things you will inevitably, miss out on, but the experience Is something you will never forget. If you already have the disire to go out and serve then you are called to the work. And if you truly want to take the lords name upon you you are called to preach the Gospel. It's gone by so fast here but we still have another full week until transfers. The work here is going good, we have gotten to have an consistent increase in PSM so that is what we have been working on. We were riding down the road one day and we saw a shark just sitting there at the tindahan. So of course we had to buy it!🤣 It cost less than 200 pesos ($3.50) for the whole thing. It weighed like 2.5 kilos. We cooked it in coconut milk and it tastes SO good. Probably my favorite meat that ive had here in the Philippines There was a big storm that came through last week and the beginning of this week. So lots of rain. So we hid under the side of a house lol Anyway that's my week. What happened in your week?🤨 -Elder McOmie Taytay Branch is coming back alive! Not many members have been very active but they have been slowly returning. Previous Letter Next Letter

6a58ed1c-683a-41ff-9d60-07a7934d87ae Elder Isaac Iverson Back to Missionary Letters Weekly...eh more like Monthly Email Hello friends and family!! I am bored enough today to grind out another group email. Let's jump into some highlights! Collin and Corinna: The Lord works MIRACLES!! We scheduled a lesson with this sweet part-member family. Collin is the member. We were doing some How to Begin Teaching, pretty much overviewing what we do as missionaries, and they start telling us how they were praying for an answer on how we could draw closer to God and me and my previous companion Elder Ackerson found them out front of their house! They talked much more of ways the Lord had prepared them for us. We taught the message of the Restoration and it was powerful. There was tears and warm fuzzies. It was a super bien lesson! We have another man named Franco who said he's ready for a baptismal date as soon as he gets his COVID vaccine later this week! I don't know what else to write about. Things are going great here in Boerne, TX! I love the mission and all the blessings it brings. OH! I hit 18 months on the 25th, so I'm an old Elder now! It's going way too fast. I would just like to leave y'all with my simple testimony that the church Christ had established while on earth has been Restored. We are living in the last dispensation and the Lord continues to love, bless, and work miracles in all of our lives! He loves you. I love you!! Have a great week or month til I right my next one!!😁😊😊😁😆☺🤪😝🤩☺😀😁😊😃😊🙂😊 Previous Letter Next Letter

  • Sister Savannah Price

8765f108-e85c-4753-bdfb-66997b98309b Sister Savannah Price Back to Missionary Letters 20 days???????????? Hola a todos Today I actually decided to write an email. Why? Definitely not because we popped a tire in our car and are currently waiting at Les Schwab for them to fix it, no no, definitely can't be that hehe Well to be honest with yall, this might be the last mass email you ever get from me. I only have a few pdays left, and with today being an exception with time, this might be it. Sorry about that 😅😌 Not too much crazy stuff has been going on anyways, just trying to stay on my feet for these last few weeks. I've seen the Lord's hand in a lot of different ways. I remember when I was younger, I used to ask myself a lot if I was feeling the Holy Ghost or if that was just me talking. As these months of my mission have gone by, I've begun to feel the HG in more aspects of my life, not just the spiritual ones. Sometimes I'll get the prompting that I need to bring my coat with me to go proselyting, and then I'm shocked to find out that it's cold outside and dang I really should have brought my jacket 😂 Nowadays I feel like the promptings come as strong as ever, with a lot of different meanings or significances. When I was younger, I felt like I only felt the Holy Ghost in the strongest of spiritual moments; like at devotionals or church or conference weekend. During my mission we have time set aside every week that we have devotionals or church or councils and with it comes an increase of the spirit, always. At this point, I feel like if I don't feel the spirit it's because I am avoiding it, because I don't want to feel it, because he is always there. I don't know what I'm going to do when I go home and don't always have the spirit with me. Luckily, I've learned a few tricks along the way. I've learned that if I start my day off with scripture study like I've done here, then my days go better. If I pray in the mornings and ask for the spirit, he is there with me. If I make a conscious effort to be more christlike, then I AM more Christlike, what a concept. Sorry to ramble, just some thoughts I've been having. The Lord knows why I am here. Maybe I don't yet, but he does and he will when the right time comes. He'll know. And I'll know. I love all of you! Sorry I'm so bad at taking pics. Maybe I'll scrounge some up and we can see what we'll get haha Keep fighting yall. Keep your origins in your heart. That's what it takes to be a Hero, right? That's what it takes to be a disciple? I know you can do it! That's what it takes to Go Beyond! PLUS ULTRA 💜 Previous Letter Next Letter
