6766f41d-bfda-494b-997d-5fcf666a7e04 Elders Maurice Perkins Back to Missionary Letters Maningue Contatos Well this week was pretty good, right now Elder Ingman and his companion are teaching all the people that we have been teaching for the last little while and so my companion and I have been doing a lot of contacts and so that is basically what my week consisted of. Tuesday, we did contacts and were able to find some awesome people. Afterwards we had a lesson and then it started pouring rain. Some of the hardest rain I have seen in my life. Wednesday we did more contacts and there was more rain. To end the day we visited Brother John and it was an awesome visit. He had lost his phone and was frustrated but after we visited him, he told us that he knows that God loves him because he sent us in his way to visit him! It was pretty cool and he is progressing well! Thursday we visited some people from Mutotope 3's area. There are no more missionaries working in that area so we are covering for the people they were teaching. We visited them with a member and it went very well. Friday was good. We started visiting all of the contacts and there have been some really awesome lessons. The Lord has been blessing us and putting people in our way. In the morning we were able to sit down with a young man that stopped us in the street to talk and say that he wanted a visit, it was awesome. Afterwards I did some interviews for the people Mutotope 1 has been teaching and they went well! Saturday was an interesting and good day. We did more contacts and invited a lot of people to church. As well we had English class that we taught which is always fun. Sunday was a good day. There were a lot of people that came to church and some friends of members that came to church for the first time as well. We will start to teach them this week! Anyways this past little bit has been reminded me of when I first got in the area and I am so grateful for the adventure that I have been on here. I know that this is the Lord's work and that He guides us in everything we do! I am excited for the adventures and experiences to come! Estamos juntos! Até próximo! 7f80c15d-51d9-4e04-be76-6db354f4a985 Sister Emily Leavitt Back to Missionary Letters Hi Everyone! This past month has been good! We finished our month of May goal to lose 500lb, sadly we didn't make it😅we lost about 470lb.BUT we did meet our goal to get 500 new people to church so that was good! This week was exciting, after two months of not being able to get any fast food, our president said we could again! We have also been getting a lot of new missionaries that are being reassigned from out of states! We got two new elders in our district so now it is 8 elders and us two sisters! We are a little out numbered.. Elyria, my last area got a new sister and they came to get some stuff from us last night! The new sister told us about what it was like to go home for two months and that would be so hard! But we are excited to have all these new missionaries! Sister Tanner and I really hope we get another sister soon! A few of our people are progressing really well! We had a lot of powerful lessons this week! We have developed a good relationship with Brad! Him and his fiance invited us to go get ice cream with them and their baby the other night and we had to say no because of quarantine. We were so sad! It would have been a great opportunity to get to know his fiance because we have been trying to get her to join our calls! And their baby is so cute!! Not to mention Mitchels ice cream is the best! We were talking to Brad's relative in the ward who referred him to us about their invite and they were so surprised because apparently she doesn't open up to many people or let people around her baby!! It is extremely frustrating to miss out on opportunities to meet and teach people in person but we are still excited they are comfortable with us enough to invite us! Yesterday we finally got a lesson with Juan!! Each time we teach him he always has good questions and we can tell he has a real desire to learn but he is really hard to get in contact with because he is so busy! We did get to commit him to read a verse every day that we send him so email me your favorite scriptures! He really want to know the Book of Mormon is true! The weather has been really nice out here! Sister Tanner and I are out side every day and we have found some really beautiful parks and the other day we went to a Botanical garden! Probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever been! This one guy spent 60+ years creating 6acres of this garden!! We also went to Cleveland a few p-day ago and saw the Rock n Roll hall of fame...but couldn't go in...one day!!! We finally got Dylan to sign his baptism record so he can be an official member! He has been working a ton! Poor guys between being a single parent with his kids on the weekend and work all week he has no time so we haven't been able to talk to him much. It is a continuing struggle to find people in quarantine but we are so grateful for the people we get to teach! It is easy to ask when this is gonna end, especially when we see everything opening up but Elder Christofferson spoke to us a few weeks ago and one the main topics was stop asking when and ask what! What can we do to keep the work going! What do we need to learn! This whole thing has taught me a lot about patience!! I'm so grateful I get to be a missionary at this time!! Thank you for all your love and support I hope you all have a good week! Love Sister Leavitt Previous Letter Next Letter

f537506b-896f-45da-8170-3d4786ee7e8b Sisster Maleena Felshaw Back to Missionary Letters Lots of good things happened this week, number one in my opinion is that ROY WAS BAPTIZED!!! He is such a cool guy. Why is everyone here so awesome? I'm not sure but I dont mind at all. Besides that lots of the usual happened (the usual is pretty good though so again, no complaints). We did have stake conference & we were chosen to be ushers, we even got badges and everything Also it is crazy how much this gospel really blesses us. You can see the change in people's lives when they keep the commandments & try to follow Christ. I would always hear that the gospel brings us joy but I didn't truly understand what that meant until I watched others & myself make changes in our lifes. If you dont know where to start, start by asking God if He loves you. Even if you know the answer, even if you dont want the answer. This is something he wants us to know & a prayer that will not go unanswered. When you're sincere with God, He's sincere with you. I love & appreciate y'all. Do something nice for someone this week :) Mon, Sep 6, 2021 Apparently the last time I wrote was a month ago??? Weird. It feels like I did last week? Anyways here's a few updates:- its halfway through the transfer know but I stayed! I really love it here. Too much. Its tempting to come back & live here.- we had zone conference & interviews with our mission president (love that guy)- I've been #permanentlyreassigned to Colorado. Mixed feeling about that one but all is well, like I said I absolutely love it here- it hailed, like out of no where. The dents in our car aren't that bad- I made LOTS of cookies this month to take around to people. Shout out to Hole Foods Bakery & my dad for both making me make cookies in preparation for this time- I bought a dozen tamales... for myself- we have started teaching some more really awesome people! They make them different in this area I think, they're all too good. Makes my job easy- speaking of ^^^ Roy is getting baptized this week!!! Super excited for thatIt's been a good time. Tell me how you've been! 1250 Mainstreet Broomfield, CO 80020 Previous Letter Next Letter

f0199de0-6dde-486b-a43a-c07de4037d87 Elder Jeremy Perkins Back to Missionary Letters Hey guys! Hope all is going great! We had an awesome week. The fire is out and the rains have started to come. We even received an alert on our phones saying flash flood warning! My family is in Oregon! I am going to the temple tomorrow to receive my endowment! I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity and experience I will have. My mom, dad, and older brother will all be able to come. The silver lining in all of this is that my brother is able to go, in which if Covid-19 never had happened he wouldn't be. The Lords hand is in all things. It will be a memorable one for sure. Kinda weird to think that they are actually here! Sorry I know this is a short one but I will make sure to write more next week. Love you all, stay awesome! Previous Letter Next Letter

96acd9bb-44ec-4e26-b834-ab5059e606d8 Elder Christian Martinez Back to Missionary Letters "When you struggle, when you are rejected, when you are spit upon and cast out and made a hiss and a byword, you are standing shoulder to shoulder with the best life this world has ever known, the only pure and perfect life ever lived. You have reason to stand tall and be grateful that the Living Son of the Living God knows all about your sorrows and afflictions. The only way to salvation is through Gethsemane and on to Calvary. The only way to eternity is through Him —the Way, the Truth, and the Life."-Elder Jeffrey R. Holland As we begin the New Year, may we always remember that God loves all of His children, and that He will always be by our side. The Atonement will carry all of us, I know that to be true, may we always remember Christs Atoning sacrifice as we begin this new year. Happy New Year! 12-30-2019 Hey everyone! Hope you all have been great! I apologize for not sending an email last week, my pday was Christmas and I was all over the place. Christmas was great, we went to the Sanders family's home and had breakfast. They have 6 wild funny kids. They showed us all their presents, they were very excited. We then went to the Rambo family home, they gave us gifts, they gave us a ginger bread house, and a painting that one of their kids made, it was great! We then hung out with our District, we made gingerbread houses and played spikeball, it was really fun 😆 afterwards we had dinner with the Webster family, they're a great family. This will be a shorter email because 1. We have a really busy pday today and 2. it's new Years eve. A talk I read this week is from the March 2001 Ensign by Elder Holland titled missionary Work and the Atonement. A quote I love from it is "The Atonement will carry the missionaries perhaps even more importantly than it will carry the investigators. When you struggle, when you are rejected, when you are spit upon and cast out and made a hiss and a byword, you are standing shoulder to shoulder with the best life this world has ever known, the only pure and perfect life ever lived. You have reason to stand tall and be grateful that the Living Son of the Living God knows all about your sorrows and afflictions. The only way to salvation is through Gethsemane and on to Calvary. The only way to eternity is through Him —the Way, the Truth, and the Life." The Atonement will carry all of us, I know that to be true, may we always remember His Atoning sacrifice as we begin this new year. Have a wonderful New Year everyone! b6ccc235-5a6b-431d-9d91-999cd9831061 Sister Jordan Memmott Back to Missionary Letters Forever grateful🤍🤍 Hi y'all! This is it! My last email on my mission! I can hardly even believe how fast these last 18 months have gone! Some of the best times of my life and I wouldn't change it for the world!💌🫶🏼 I had the best last week and we saw so many miracles every single day!! - had my departing interview with President John and it was so so good! He has been the best of the best and I've learned so much from him! #blessed - we got stuck at this apartment complex because of a little fiasco with this guy! There were about 15 cops cars surrounding the building and we couldn't leave. Everyone was out watching and trying to figure out what was happening! But hey during all of it we talked to so many people and even found a member who hasn't been to church in a couple of years! - I got to see a lot of my old comps and had to say goodbye for now😢 love them so much - we had 5 of our friends come to church!!! What a miracle. They all loved it and will hopefully come back again:) - everytime we went to visit someone yesterday they were either not home or busy but everytime we found another person who wanted to learn more and meet with us! So it all worked out and we were definitely led where we needed to be for a reason! I just love my Savior! There aren't enough words to express how grateful I am for Him!! I'll forever be grateful for my mission! I love all the people I've met in Texas and they've changed my life in so many ways! There's so much joy that comes from living the gospel! Just know that God is good all of the time and that he loves you💟 I'll see you guys soon! My homecoming will be this Sunday! Let me know if you want the info;) Sister Memmott🩷🩷 Previous Letter Next Letter

3ede0df5-90fc-45d3-9154-378450032aa1 Sister Alyson Cook Back to Missionary Letters The work will go on Hello everyone! My goal is to keep this short, so wish me luck. We are continuing to be quarantined until further notice, but this wasn't anything that we didn't expect. But we are continuing to be shown time and time again that the Lord knows what he's doing! Some miracles I've seen throughout the week; - We don't have enough time in the day. We have to be aware of every minute of time because everyday is filled to the brim! -Ariana is continuing to progress amazingly! It's so cool to be able to witness the gospel change her life right in front of my very eyes - Tons of missionaries from this ward have returned home due to Corona, and we have someone who has just been a stellar missionary! He requested 5 Book of Mormons already to give to his friends. Will update you on that! -Sister Rosenbeck and I have been praying to receive revelation for our areas worm, and everyday we've been able to pinpoint moments where we were lead by the Spirit in what we need to do! - So many lessons! I don't know if it's that my other two areas were slower, but quarantine seems to have increased the amount of lessons we are teaching to people. We're so busy! I'd like to share a scripture that I read this week. It's been on my mind a lot lately. It's from the Book of Mormon (Alma 17:10) and it's talking about the sons of King Mosiah and Alma the younger preparing to go to the Lamonites, or unbelievers to share the Gospel to them. The verse says "And it came to pass that the Lord did visit them with his Spirit, and said unto them: Be comforted. And they were comforted." The next chapters go on to share about their mission over the next 14 years. They were cast into prison, they starved, they were beaten, and many many other trials. At the end of this story, they were bring 7 Lamonites cities to the knowledge of Christ, which is amazing! But that wasnt for a long time. I'm sure that in the middle of their trials I'm sure that they thought "why the heck am I doing this?" Many times. But the Lord, in all His goodness, knew exactly what they were going to go through beforehand. To prepare them and give them assurance that that was truly the right direction, before they ever set out he visited them with His spirit and gave them peace. So when they would be going through it, they would be able to recall that experience and know with assurity why they are there and that God is with them. That's a truth that can be applied to lots of different situations, so I invite you to read that chapter (Alma 17) and ponder how the Lord gave you peace before the trial. I love you all! Thank you for being in my life :) Sister Cook Previous Letter Next Letter

Elder Andrew Maxfield Back to Missionary Letters From Knox To Nash 207 South Church Avenue Rockwood, TN 37854 PHOTOS https://photos.app.goo.gl/6eFoMLcxApcTof8c7https://photos.app.goo.gl/6eFoMLcxApcTof8c7 Hey Yall! I've completed just about half a Sister's Mission😱😁 that's gotta count for something right? Well it's been a good week so it's going to count in my books. It's been such a freaking amazing week! I finally went to the temple after a long 9 month wait🥹😭 and it was a long wait, never being able to go and watching everybody else go. It truly makes me realize what it's like for those who have lived so far away from a temple, what a blessing it is to go. Anyways here's how my week was let me know how your week was this Easter week! - P Day was EPIC, (my autocorrect knew epic needed to be all caps) because we had a Zone P Day. 4 straight hours of volleyball, basketball, and 9 Square was enough to keep me entertained the whole time and completely whooped by the end😂 - We had youth night and got to help the youngins get themselves some names for the temple on Saturday! And I got a bunny signed by all the young women from Arieana so that's also a massive W😎✌️ - Thursday we had an amazing exchange with the Lenoir City Elders! The only difference was I was staying in Rockwood and had Elder Phillips with me! We got to work going with Harry to Spring City to see all the crazy Hillbilly people😅 I learned a lot from Elder Phillips and his many years of Wisdom!(he's 26 years old and just came out!) - Saturday was the big day! WE MADE IT TO NASHVILLE😱 A huge youth group came with the Ward and we got to go with Arieana to help her through her first time! Just a really good excuse to get to go🙃 We were able to perform baptisms for the dead which were amazing! I also was given the sacred honor of baptizing Arieana for her mom who passed away last year🫠🫠 Talk about sacred experiences! I also baptized two other cool people from the ward and then on top of everything got to help with Confirmations! SPIRITUAL OVERLOAD! Much needed time to recharge my spiritual battery😊 - Also I got to see Sister Bishop from HOUSE MOUNTAIN!! What an awesome surprise😁 - Sunday Elder Barlow gave a talk about, you guessed it, Easter as a whole. Why The Atoning Sacrifice is so important. Not why it was important, but why it is! The Atonement for you and me is an ongoing process, giving us the ability to progress and better ourselves every day! The thing that I love most about how we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints celebrate Easter is that while we celebrate His Atoning and Suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, and His Crucifixion on the Cross, we focus our celebrations on the fact that He lives! He is alive and is a perfect Ressurected example that we are able to follow. Think about what He's done for you, even after Easter! - We had Easter dinner with the Powells! They're so awesome, all their little girls running around giving us stuff and drawing and painting for us! They remind me of the Dibbs😁😂 *shoutout Brother and Sister Dibb, Quinn, Jada, and Wylie!🧡 The Powells made Bunny pancakes(they look like Barry) Funeral Potatoes, and eggs! For my spiritual thought I wanted to focus on temples a little more, as it was the highlight of my mission so far! Temples are the central way that we make eternal covenants with our families and ties them to our Heavenly Father! Getting to baptize a daughter for her mom was such a holy experience for me because it's hard to understand what the family connection really is when you have your family still, but understanding what it means to bring families together is super special to me😊 I want to ask all of you what temples mean to you? I promise you that temples are God's houses. If you've never been into a temple, what would you be willing to do to be close to God, in His house? In the only dedicated place Satan cannot be! Just think about that😁 I love yall! I'm in such a unbreakably good mood so let me know if you need anything! I'll help with anything! Have a great week! Sister Jordan Memmott Back to Missionary Letters So much good❤️🔥 Hi guys!! We've seen so many miracles this last week it's been great!!! And happy Holy Week! I'm so grateful we get to celebrate our Savior this week and focus on all that he's done for us💓 Highlights - we had zone conference!!! One of my fav meetings:) President John talked about spiritual eclipses and making sure we are keeping our "eye single to the glory of God". It's helped me really focus on what's most important and get rid of the distractions in my way! - Shane!!! This guy is so awesome and has been prepared for the gospel! We had a lesson and a chapel tour with him and he loved it all! He is so open minded about everything and grateful we ran into him. When we gave him a Book of Mormon it brought him to tears because he was so happy! And he's reading it which is so awesome! - hahah funniest thing ever! So one of our members has this challenge they do with missionaries, which is to drink 54oz of milkshake in 5 minutes! And it's SO big! Anyway we went ahead and tried it and guys no joke I literally threw up hah! I got a little more than halfway and then my stomach said nope not today! They got a good kick out of it and it made for some fun times😅 - we went to the temple today and as we were leaving I ran into my recent convert Chelsea from Colleyville!!!! Little tender mercy! I love her and it made my day! She is the absolute cutest and doing so good! This week I was reading a talk by Elder Uchtdorf called Continue in Patience and it was so good! It showed me how important patience is even though its a hard thing to get down haha! There hasn't been a lot going on in our area the last few weeks and finally after so long God has been blessing us and we've seen the good come out of our hard times! He truly is always with us and aware of what we are going through! "Often the deep valleys of our present will be understood only by looking back on them from the mountains of our future experience. Often we can’t see the Lord’s hand in our lives until long after trials have passed. Often the most difficult times of our lives are essential building blocks that form the foundation of our character and pave the way to future opportunity, understanding, and happiness." Love y'all! Have the best week!!! Sister Memmott🩷🩷 Previous Letter Next Letter
